If any of you Mendez fans live around Claremont California there's going to be a student recital this Wednesday night (the 21st) at Pomona College, and I'm on the roster, scheduled to be playing two of Mendez's tunes. The first is his Valse Suriano, a really majestic Mexican waltz, and the second is his famous La Virgen de la Macarena, the Bull Fighter's song.

If you'd like to see some decent Mendez playing you should come pay a visit. My only regret is not being able to play more songs. Because of school politics I have to "prove my worth" so to speak before I'm allowed to put on my own solo show. But if this goes well maybe in a few months I'll be able to put on my hour long Tribute to Mendez show... we'll see
