Mr Hickman, I'm trying to find Plegaria Taurina (Mendez) for Trumpet and Piano or Band, I've tried Boosey and Hawkes but they don't have it anymore, could you tell me please here can I find it?
A big compliment from a big fan in Portugal.

I believe it is published by Carl Fischer with piano, but I can't remember for certain. Band parts are in the Mendez Library, but we no longer rent band and orchestra music. |

Many of the Mendez solos published by CF are out of print. I believe that the collection of some of Mendez' solos is all that is still available. I can't remember if this solo is in that collection. Anyone know for sure? |

Bullfighter's Prayer is not in Carl Fischer's "The Rafael Mendez Collection." |

If it was at one time published by Carl Fischer you might have some luck by checking their archives. You can send an email to dcoppen@esm.rochester.edu and ask them to check their archives to see if you can obtain an archival copy of the music. I've had pretty good luck getting the out of print Mendez tunes I was looking for like Dark Eyes and Aires Andaluces just to name a few. It is a bit pricier than buying published music, but if it's out of print I don't mind paying those extra dollars. |
