I was looking in the Aebersold catalog and it says Lee Morgan "Sidewinder" (Volume 106) is coming out sometime this month. Can't wait to get a copy.

AHHH! THE MIGHTY-MORGAN!
After seeing this post...I took found my old library copied John Coltrane's BLUE TRAIN to get my weekly fix of Lee Morgan.

It never ceases to amaze me just lyrical Lee can play...on cut # 4 I'm Old Fashioned. It truly is sooooooooo tasteee' however for the life of me...why do I hear Coltrane and so many other tenor sax players, seem to PLAY ON THE SHARP SIDE OF THE NOTES when they play ballad or heartfelt stuff? (GADS! the worst offender,by far and away in this lifetime is the egomeeenie-weeeneee, Kenny-Peeee'and leaves me teeth and ear-ball itchin'-n'twitchin????

I never can help but leaving the CD player in repeat mode when I hear this beautiful Morgan cut but again how can one improve on BLUE TRAIN. It is such a beautiful and artistic recording.

This play-along is really going to be fun for us Lee-ophiles. Jamey had me help him transcribe the tunes and proofread the parts. It was great to get back into those recordings. I'm sure some clams still slipped through. Apologies in advance. You guys are gonna love it!

PH,
When will the volumn actually become available? Which tunes will be included?
