Someone wrote a bit about Rafael on Wikipedia. It should be expanded a lot.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rafael_M%C3%A9ndez
A link to this forum should be put into it. There are also now several clips on YouTube that should be linked to it.
Ole
P.S. There is also a short article where he is called Raphael on wiki. That one should be merged into the one where his name is correct. |

Here is a samle of how Mendez should end up looking on Wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louis_Armstrong
Dave are there anyone from the Mendez Institute that could do the job?
(They have the best sources - photos, recording, etc. etc.)
Ole
P.S.
Mendez and Armstrong were my first trumpet idols |

Ole,
By "institute" I assume that you mean the Mendez Library? I guess that would be me.
I will see if I can fill out the bio info on him. Whoever submitted the one there probably spent five minutes (or less!) on it.

Yes, I meant the Library
Btw, the bio is a good start!
http://mendezlibrary.asu.edu/bio.htm
(and there are some photos that are better than the current CD cover)
Some of the sections in the Armstrong article may suit a Mendez article:
* Early life
* Early career
* Music
* Films, TV
* Legagy
Also the "Background information" could be based on how Armstrong's is filled out.
