I've been away for a while. Thanks for your efforts as I have sold a few items and find the TH a very useful resource.

How do I get a code???
trumpetherald wrote: | Hi all:
The TH Marketplace re-opens today after a two-week hiatus.
Due to recent security concerns, all ads and all Marketplace accounts have been removed and we're starting with a clean slate.
You can now add up to five photos to each listing on the system. This should improve the usefulness of the listings greatly.
There is a new procedure for activating accounts. You will have to create a 'security phrase' and PIN to access your Marketplace listings.
The PIN is self-explanatory, it's a four-digit number that you'll need to provide to place, remove, or edit any adverts on the site.
The 'security phrase' is different. It's simply a sentence or two about some unique information you'll recognize about yourself. Maybe your dog's name, or your birthplace, or your favorite horn.
You'll provide this when you activate your Marketplace account. Thereafter, that phrase will appear on computers on which you have managed your Marketplace listings.
If you see your correct security phrase, you can have pretty high confidence that you're on TrumpetHerald.com and not getting phished.
If your phrase isn't available, it may mean that you're on a phishing site. Check the url of the page very carefully and don't be tricked! However, it probably just means that you're using a different computer or web browser to access your listings, or that the cookie needed to display the phrase got deleted.
If you see the wrong security phrase, or no phrase or warning at all, there is a high probability that you're on a phishing site. The only way to see an incorrect security phrase is if you're logged into TrumpetHerald.com on an account other than your own.
TH will never send you a note that your Marketplace account has been de-activated and that you need to visit a certain link to re-activate. And, we'll never ask for your PIN and your regular login credentials on the same page.
Sorry about the increased complication for managing these ads, but it's necessary to protect users as much as possible. In the present-day web, small sites are now targets as well.
Oh, and there might be some bugs, so add a post here if you find some problems with activation, photos, or anything else.
Thanks,
td |

Same question. I want to sell a Bach quad case and am having no luck posting it. I've not posted in the marketplace in a while and can't find anyplace to set up the new-style account. It takes me to a page asking for a PIN, and I don't believe I have one. Can anyone help? _________________ "Brass bands are all very well in their place - outdoors and several miles away ." - Sir Thomas Beecham |

The first time it asks, you must enter a PIN of your own choosing. Then, keep the number safe and use it forever more.
If that doesn't work, PM trumpetherald as nobody else can help. The Marketplace is independent of the Forums.
As has been said many times before... Ike here:

No worries. I know some people have had problems after changing their email and getting locked out (becuase any message is sent to the old email address). You have to ping Todd for that as well, so hopefully he'll get back quickly (his schedule tends to be crowded). _________________ "After silence, that which best expresses the inexpressible, is music" - Aldous Huxley |

I'm having difficulty uploading pictures to my ad. I keep getting a fatal error message. [Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 50331648 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 3648 bytes) in /home/httpd/vhosts/trumpetherald.com/httpdocs/th_common.php on line 257] Is that on your end or mine? Please advise.

Sounds like your image(s) is too large. You're allowed 50MB (!) and you've exceeded it.
Save as a smaller size and try uploading again. A 128K image is plenty big for uploading. You can always email high res pix to folks if they want/need them. |

I have tried to place an ad many times the last week, it seems to
accept it but then has never shown up in the market place. My
account info says my marketplace is active, yet does not seem to be.
Please let me know what is going on...
Thanks,
Mnc

You didn't have at least 5 posts at the time?
That's all I got. I've never used the marketplace, but do know that regulation. _________________ LA Benge 3X Bb Trumpet

I did the 5 posts and activated my marketplace account with its requisite PIN and all. Went through filling out the various description fields and up loaded 4 pictures.
No joy after doing the whole process twice....help!

Rarely does anyone respond to marketplace posts from "fake" members that crank out 5 posts, and then vanish anyway. Try being a real contributor while you wait. _________________ "Music is like candy, you throw the (w)rappers away." |
