I love the "business" end of these old Olds horns. A# C# slide/tune adjusters. 1930 Olds and a 1929 hammered bell Olds. By the way....NICE Selmer!

My goldplated 2002 Wild Thing short cornet, before Flip Oakes went to his new, fancy bell logo . . .

Guys, what am I doing wrong in posting a pic? When double-clicking on your pics, the enlargement pops up, but when doing mine, it also opens the annoying image shack page. Aargh!

Oh, and Walter, how do you get your pic to post like it does without having to do the click-to-enlarge thing?

Thanks

Hi,

You were almost there! You posted the web address (URL) instead of the PROPERTIES address of your image. Thus, a reader will be directed to the website's link when they click on the website's link. You don't want that.

You want to SHOW the photo, which requires posting the image's direct link ON the website. THIS LINK IS DIFFERENT, but is easy to get. Here's how . . .

Click onto your two links you posted, and when they open on the website page, RIGHT CLICK on the photo and then click on the "properties" tab.

When you do, you'll see the IMAGE's image link that needed to be posted instead.

I'll do the first one for you as an example:

1. You posted: http://www.monriverbigband.com/2.jpeg HOWEVER . . .

2. You should have posted the image link of: http://www.monriverbigband.site88.net/2.jpeg

Then, once the image link is posted into your text box here, highlight the entire link, and then click on the Img button just below the text box.

When you do, your image link with now have immediately after the image link.
Hope this helps!

Tom

The photo will now magically appear as follows.

Now, you can go back and edit your post and show both pictures. Cool, ain't it!!!

We are getting some great horns .....what a treat!!! Please keep them coming...

To include a picture I set up a free account at http://photobucket.com/register/

I upload an image from my computer into photobucket......once there you click on your picture......you can then resize it...... if the largest dimension is about 800 pixels it is a nice size. One resized and finished the way you like you click/copy the img link. Go back to your post and set the cursor where you want the photograph to sit and paste the link......job done.

Let me know if you have any questions....

Walter

Wow -- great horns and photos all! Walt, love that Selmer. Ed, always a joy to see your Bb and cornet. Canuck, just jaw droppingly beautiful.

Here's my cornet which is much younger than my 51 years. She's not quite 2 years old:

This one is 62 years old:

And,

And this one 50 years old:

Here are my twins. Circa early 1930s King Silvertone trumpet and cornet. These are both in original condition. The cornet has the sterling goldwash bell with gold leaf art deco engraving and the trumpet has the sterling goldwash bell with the flower engraving. Some say they are the most beautiful instruments ever made but you can be the judge.
