Hi All,

Over the past few months I've been working on grouping trumpets into pricing tiers. Here is the latest installment, which focuses on the Harrelson Muse trumpet: https://trumpetmadness.wordpress.com/2023/09/15/trumpet-buying-guide-tier-2-10k-15k-harrelson-muse-trumpets/

Outside of used Monettes, I haven't found any other models in this price range (besides collectables), but I'm happy to be corrected.

To review all of the Tier definitions: https://trumpetmadness.wordpress.com/2022/11/24/what-b-flat-trumpet-should-i-buy-part-1-overview/

To review Tier 1: https://trumpetmadness.wordpress.com/2023/04/14/what-b-flat-trumpet-should-i-buy-tier-1-15000/

Keep an eye out for future articles, which will cover more affordable territory!

Looked at your tiers. I think you need to subdivide the lower tier a bit.

Also the lowest price in tier 5 excludes a lot of the more respected inexpensive instruments like Carol Brass

Fair points. I'll revise once I get there! Thanks for reading!

I don't comment on here a ton, but was poking around your website a little and enjoyed reading your anecdote about Ron Miles. I was fortunate enough to hear some of his final gigs, two years ago this week. The generosity and humanity that comes through in your story about him filled the Village Vanguard that night. Sorry to go off topic, it was just nice to be reminded of him again.

Nice! That's so cool you got to see that group live. Ron's live performances were so amazing. I love the Rainbow Sign album, and Heaven with Bill Frisell had a huge impact on me. Ron left us way to soon.
