The Tacoma Jazz Music Festival - May 23rd & 24th - HUGE!!!

Special guest star, legendary international trumpet artist, Bobby Shew!!!

It's coming up, May 23rd and 24th, Memorial Day Weekend. Friday night is jazz in participating night clubs, and Saturday is the main event where one ticket, $20, gets you into all events, five stages, over 32 bands, about a dozen clinicians, master classes, music vendors, beer gardens, as well as a family event, it is going to be huge!!! Students, players, and fans alike will see and hear a lot of great stuff, you will not want to miss this.

Legendary international jazz trumpet recording artist, Bobby Shew will be doing a clinic, in addition to the other clinicians, as well as be the featured closer for the festival on Saturday night. Where else can you get this much value and this much jazz with top jazz artists from all over the Puget Sound? All for only $20 plus a small $4 handling charge where applicable. Your ticket for Saturday is also good for discounts on Friday night at participating night clubs, and on Saturday you will exchange it for a wrist band that gets you into all events, all day long. The line up includes some of your favorite musicians and bands.

I am looking forward to this festival. It is good to see things happening in Western Washington, outside of Seattle. I think this is going to blossom in a big way. Thanks for getting it off of the ground Rich.

Thanks, this is going to be huge, seven night clubs, five concert venues, over 35 bands, over 500 musicians, I can hardly wait.

Can you post information about the Shew Clinic (when/where/how much)? I've a couple of students who are interested. There could be a herd from Kitsap County that would be supportive.

There will be several clinics on Saturday, May 24th at The Tacoma Jazz Festival, so tell your friends and students about them.

Final outline of clinicians / jazz masterclasses for the festival, line up for May 2003.

Two classrooms immediately adjacent to vicinity of the First Baptist stage, upstairs in the First Baptist Church.

Festival ticket is required for admittance to the clinics.

One ticket gets you into everything on Saturday, May 24th and discounts at participating clubs on Friday, May 23rd. The clinics are all on Saturday, May 24th. Festival tickets, that also get you into the clinics, are only $20.00 plus a small $4.00 handling charge where applicable.
