Hello all,
I have recordings of Tim Morroison playing on the sound tracks for Apollo 13 and Saving Private Ryan. Anybody know of any other recordings by him? He is an incredible player who has played with the Boston Symphony and the Boston Pops. He was also runner up for David Bilger's job in the Philly Orch..
Sean

You can also hear Tim on "Summon the Heros". In fact, on the CD jacket it is titled "Summon the Heros (for Tim Morrison)". He is the solo trumpet on just about everything John Williams does. Tim is a great player and has a fabulous sound. _________________ "We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of dreams." |

He has a big solo on the soundtrack for "Born on the Fourth of July" as well.

born on the 4th of july and summon the heroes are both great film scores with Tim playing. I used to have some old videos of the Boston Pops (under John Williams) where Tim was principal. It was great to see them do stuff like Jurrasic Park. Tim also played a trumpet solo from the film The Mambo Kings in that concert and it showed him play close up. Looks far too easy!

I like his real lyrical and emotional playin, not mention an unbelivable sound.

There's a nice recording he did of Copland's "Quiet City" with the Pops on Sony Classical. It might be out of print now, but scrounge around in some used places and you might find it. There's a bunch of other Copland film music on the disc, too. I think it's called "Stage and Screen", and you're more likely to find it under "Williams" and the "Boston Pops" than "Copland". |
