hello,

I have bought via ebay a B.Shew E10.3, with a number 27 on it.
What does it mean, and what is the difference with a normal E10.3?
Is there a way to get more compression with this mouthpiece?
Thanks for answers,
Eric

hi,
probably it refers to the smallest diameter of the mpc.
27 = 3.66mm
i believe that normally the e 10.3 has another diameter.

That would be the throat size, meaning a #27 drill was used for the hole.

The Marc. 10.3 is the Bobby Shew 1.25. It comes standard with a .140 in. drill venturi(#28 I believe). The number 27 would refer to a .144 in. drill venturi, the same as the Bobby Shew 2. This is interesting because I play the Shew 2 and 1.5, and am considering having the 1.5 opened up to .144 in. Hope this helps!

thanks very much for answers.
KPC517, do you mean there is one drill for one mouthpiece in this Bobby Shew "collection"?

Hi Eric,
Sorry it took so long to get back to you. According to the Marcinkiewicz Website the Shew 1, 1.25, 1.5 and 1.75 all have the .140 drill. The Shew 2 has the 1.44 drill. I am currently looking at getting my 1.5 opened up to a .144 like the Shew 2. By the way, the #27 is the drill "number" equivilent of .144 in. The .140 would be a #28. Here are a couple of links for you:

Hope this helps!

Take Care,
Ken

Hi Ken,

Thank you very much for your help.
In fact I have 3 Bobby Shew 1, and I will try to open one with a 27 drill, I hope it will work.
One thing is a little bit strange: the backbores of my three E14 seem to be very different!(I mesured its with a pencil).
Have a nice day,
Eric
