FRIDAY THE 14th SALE THROUGH SUNDAY, JUNE 16th ONLY!
$500 OFF OF $4,950 AND FREE DOMESTIC SHIPPING!!!

Here is a Rare Selmer Balanced Bb trumpet from late 1954, once owned by a legendary musician and singer. This beautiful and unique instrument is in flawless original condition and plays beautifully—probably the finest version of this horn around today.

It has been held by a wealthy collector for many years—someone who knew the long-departed original owner. This horn might easily fetch five or six figures at auction but the seller only wants a new owner to PLAY the horn and never sell, auction or let the horn sit on a shelf or in a museum. He is adamant about this. That's why he's selling it for the appraised value of the horn and nothing more.

The serial (and possibly some details about the horn) will be provided only to the buyer just prior to sale so please don't ask for details. The historical disclosure is solely at the discretion of the seller. But we're confident that this horn is exactly as described by the collector, who is very credible and offering this horn through us at what we firmly believe to be an incredible price. Incidentally, the seller is donating 100% of this sale (and others) to charity.

As we mentioned, we dated this horn to late 1954. It is a 24A designation, making it an ML bore. That, in and of itself, may be a dead giveaway, for only the top players of that era played this model.

It is absolutely flawless, as if it was just shipped from the 1954 Selmer factory. It sounds very punchy yet incredibly warm with a light attack. The (original) valve action tested as butter smooth and perfect. The horn is polished raw golden brass and the lead pipe is silver. All of the markings and engraved logos/information on the horn are crisp, sharp and still deep. Again, simply a perfect and gorgeous horn. We honestly have never seen one this clean or sound this amazing.

We're not taking one cent from this sale in repping it—and all of our summations and opinions on instruments and accessories are completely candid and brutally honest. We stake our reputation on it and buyers of the $20k Monettes and $10k Martin Committee Handcrafts we've sold will testify that we know these instruments and do not exaggerate. We have a perfect track record. In addition, we only rep the best instruments we come across—turning away dozens each week from eBay, Reverb, Trumpet Herald and all over the world. In other words, this horn is exceptional.

This beauty will come with a high end hard or soft case. You have the option to upgrade to a more deluxe hardshell fiberglass case that more conforms to ATA flight standards and is ultra-light. The upgrade can be done after the fact.

But if you really want the best trumpet case ever made, then you can purchase the last Monette leather trumpet case we have in stock—a case that you can only get if you buy a Monette horn. If it hasn't been sold yet, then it will be made available to the buyer at a discounted price—only to house this beautifully classic and historic Selmer.

This isn't sold with a mouthpiece, but please inquire about our collection of vintage mint condition mouthpieces. We might be able to recommend one we have in stock that you could purchase at a discount through us when you buy the horn.

Expedited and secure shipping will be provided—but we will only charge $50. It will cost us roughly $200 for full insurance and expedited service through our carrier.

Check out our amazing other horns for sale, including one amazing Taylor Bb from a Hollywood movie and one unbelievably creamy Martin Committee Handcraft. We also have a gorgeous Glenn Cronkhite flugelhorn case, a gorgeous (and new) original Reunion Blues black (faux) alligator gig bag and a bunch of amazing mouthpieces up for grabs.

Thanks for looking.
