|SOLD is a 1910 C.G. Conn New Creation Cornet. This is a pretty cool little horn and plays pretty well. The leadpipe appears to have been remade at some point. This is a #2 bore as indicated by the “M” stamped on the second valve casing. That equates to a .468” bore. |
The valves have wear but move freely as do all the slides. A heavy weight Hetman Classic Valve Oil will help best for the sake of compression. You would need that too if you were 109 years old! Some finish wear but all the engraving is nice and sharp. Gold wash finish inside the bell and partially up the top side of the bell flare.
Also remember that any Conn cornet made before 1958 requires a short-shank cornet mouthpiece. It wasn’t until 1958 that Conn changed to the use of long-shank cornet pieces. There is no mouthpiece or case included.
These are pretty rare as you see a lot fewer of these compared to other models as Conn had its 2nd factory fire In May of 1910 and many of their mandrels and plans were lost. I am a professional player so please feel free to ask questions.
Here is a video of myself playing this horn on an excerpt of Conversation For Cornet:
Feel free to make an offer. Worst I can say is no. Unless I know where you live ;-) Thanks for looking!
