|Fully restored antique Sieberling Lucas Music Company cornet.|
I found this horn in a flea market in 1975. It plays in tune, and blows freely, the way you'd expect an early 20th century horn to play. Has the perfect sound for a period instrument brass band or a serious traditional jazz band player. Local music stores back then bought horns from Europe, with blank labels and then engraved their company name on them. The lead pipe has the word "Austria" engraved around the end of it, so it's pretty likely that's where it was made.
I took it into Dick Akright some years ago who fully restored the instrument. He replated the valves, which play like new. He also did a fresh silver plate on the horn as well. It's gorgeous. I paid $800 for the work and I'm just looking to get my money back on it. I'll ship in the ProTec case you see here and will throw that in along with the instrument. Buyer to pay shipping.
