|Bb Mt. Vernon Bach Stradivarius trumpet for sale. Serial #22,xxx (built in February, 1962). ML bore. 43 Bell. 25 Mouthpipe.|
I am the second owner. It sat for a few decades in the 1st owner's closet. It had some bell dent work done in 1986 and was relacquered at that time. The bottom of the "B" of the bell stencil is faded, presumably because it was buffered during this work.
I got the horn in 2012. Switched off between it and my other Bach Bb for several months. It was cleaned by Dana Hofer in 2014. It has seen probably just several hours of playtime since then. It looks and sounds great.
Lacquer is 99% (again, not original).
Compression isn't good. Little to no pop with a compression test.
Valves are consistently nice and smooth.
Some scratches. Two shallow dents (bow of tuning slide, and bow of bell).
Original case looks good. I would say 6-7/10 condition.
While I would love to stockpile an inappropriate number of trumpets, the money would better serve me elsewhere.
For $2000 I will include CONUS shipping and insurance. Located in St. Louis, if you want to see it in person.
Sorry if the pictures are upside-down. TH picture upload is quite a mysterious beast. I have previously recorded inspection and play test videos. Additional pictures available. Just ask.
More than happy to answer any questions.
