Listed is a YORK MASTER MODEL FEATHER TOUCH trumpet circa. 1948 that is in need of repair work. It is a project that I do not have time or funds for at the moment.

1. Horn requires a valve job (pistons have been worn through many decades of use and slightly leaks. Horn is still playable and has a good tone but notes are squirely and not in tune with added resistance.

2. Overall full ultrasonic cleaning and typical replacement of corks and felts.

3. Slight ding work, only a few easy ones.

4. The strip of nickel mount piece that the main slide water key is mounted on is slightly unsoldered and will need to be resoldered by a tech.

NO RED ROT NO PATCHES

Everything else looks be in great shape, the bell has the original lacquer only halfway until near the crook, the rest of the horn has either lacquer worn areas of raw brass.

The horn still has the original feather touch system with the original springs that work really well even given the condition of the valve pistons. Very fast action with the valves, very impressed by the design. The springs can be replaced by a tech as well if needed.

Overall if repaired it would be a fantastic playing and looking horn. I have played a few restored version of these horns and they play very well with a solid core to the sound and the blow feels great. I would describe the York Master Model FT to play like a Blessing Super Artist with much faster valve action and an even warmer core to the sound.
The styling is also very impressive from the York company at the time, a lot of areas and crooks have a multi hexagon styling including the large receiver as well!

Red Brass bell with a fancy engraved nickel garland around the bell flare.

Horn was most likely built using parts from Blessing (shares some parts with the Blessing Super Artists).

Listed for $300 this is a great price for a great project.
