I purchased this bell a month or so ago, hoping to try it on my E3L for some things. However, in order to get the mechanism to work, the stem coming out of the 1st valve that fits into the bell has to be shortened. As I'm of the mind that I'd really rather not do this, I am selling this bell to someone who might be interested. It is the heavier bell (hence the H), but is not "heavy". It is in raw brass, and the bell conversion (rail and tail insert/screw) was done by Steve Mumford in Ann Arbor. It is very well done and were the stem issue not a concern, I would keep the bell and play it (as it sounds great!). The bell new from Mouthpiece Express in raw brass is $475 plus shipping and taxes, and the parts needed to make a tuning bell are over $150 with installation. My price is $375, plus shipping. |
