I have too many Bb's, so with some regret I'm selling this Edwards Gen 3 setup at a good price.

For those who aren't familiar, Edwards is the superior line of pro horns from the Getzen family. For many years the way you bought an Edwards trumpet was to go to their showroom in Elkhorn, WI, and try various configurations of modular bells and leadpipes to dial in just what works for you. This became too complex a sales process for Edwards to maintain, so after Gen III/Gen X (this vintage) they shifted away from modular horns. You cannot buy a custom horn from them this way any longer.

This Gen III setup allows you much of the customization you used to get at the factory store! AND you can change your mind based on the gig. It includes:
- 1 3K20 heavy bell. (3 = Gen III, K = Medium Large Throat (4 7/8" Flare), 20 = their heaviest gauge.)
- 1 3K23 lightweight bell. (as above, in their lightest gauge)
- 1 D2 leadpipe (fairly tight, 0.343" venturi)
- 1 D3 leadpipe (medium large, 0.349" venturi)
- 1 Getzen S leadpipe = Edwards D4 (large, 0.351" venturi)
- 1 Getzen O leadpipe = Edwards D5 (X-large, 0.354" venturi)
- 3 normal and 3 heavy valve caps in silver

The construction of the Edwards Generation horns includes a unique adjustable pressure screw from bell to valve block that you can tighten up or disengage. This has a significant effect on the bell vibration and control that provides another dimension of customization.

This horn is awesome. With the heavy bell this horn RINGS -- big bold rich sound when you push it, warm intimate sound as needed. With the light bell the horn is nimble and bright.

The valves on this horn are absolutely the best I've ever played. The local brass tech at Best Instrument Repair (home of Bel Canto trumpets) said to me "these valves are so nice I want to curl up and take a nap with them!"

I am the second owner, and I know the first. Condition is 90% of new. There is some cosmetic plating loss on the leadpipe sleeve, but it's totally non-functional as the leadpipe sits inside that sleeve. There are some stand pings on the bells and a small repair to the lightweight bell bow when it got slightly bent. There are a couple more tarnish marks on the silver I tried to show in photos -- I suspect these can be polished out.

I'm pricing this to sell, below other Edwards trumpets on Reverb/eBay. Trent Austin has a number of videos about the Gen III you can dig up on YouTube. I can also send playing clips of this particular horn for serious buyers.
