For sale is a Bach Stradivarius ML 37 in Silver with a MK Drawing no. 7 leadpipe with a 345 venturi and heavier Mt. Vernon style receiver. I'm the second owner, it was originally picked from the factory in 2001 by my high school teacher(a doctoral student at University of Michigan at the time). The wear on the bell was a flaw in the plating(common for the year) and showed up around 2006 shortly after I purchased it. All other wear shown is from daily use for the past two decades. I played this through undergrad and beyond, the original receiver had some damage so I had the whole horn overhauled last year and the new leadpipe put on. The valves are excellent, compression etc. The guides are mismatched; trust me you'll like it, or you can have a local tech change them.
I picked this leadpipe as I wanted something that would have a more even blow to match my C (Sachs model at the time) but give a little more and darker color for solo work. It projects like crazy, but is not quite as heavy as the artisans. If you haven't tried a 37/7 combination I would highly recommend it. Comes with an artisan double case(Functioning latches with keys! some light scuffs).
Only selling because I now have a matched set of vintage horns and my wife won't let me keep it. |
