I bought this Yamaha 9445 NY-YM Gen 3 C trumpet back in September 2024. Horn has been adjusted by Wayne at the Atelier in NYC. It's dialed in very well, a great playing horn.
Fantastic condition. Everything works and plays as new. Only damage was a small dent in bell that Wayne rolled out. Traces of it are still visible in the bell close-up picture.
Charlie Melk expertly installed his pitchfinder on this horn. This is his new pitchfinder design, using his own components (previously they were Bach components). Now the trigger has less mass, as well as a set screw to adjust the rest position of the trigger. Consequently, this pitch finder doesn't have much of an effect on the horn's sound and playability. I made some reference recordings before and after installation, and I hardly noticed any difference. If anything, I thought it made the sound a tiny bit beefier and wider. For me, the ability to lower the top G/F#, certain 3rds, and other kinds of situations, is a no brainer. Holding and using it becomes second nature.
Melk's pitch finder costs $410. This is reflected in the price.
