I'm an amateur player looking for places to play! I don't know that I really have a "preferred performance idiom." I play mostly "legit" music in church but also play in a couple of big bands and in a jazz/standards quintet that meets approximately every once in a while. I've also done a bit of pit orchestra work and enjoy that.
