I'm just a junior in high school right now. I live in Illinois (nope, not Chicago). I've been playing the trumpet for about 6 years, and I figure it's just something I do for fun. I can get competitive at marching band competitions, but I'm no die hard, at least not now.

I'm in the jazz band, marching band, pep band, and concert band at my high school, all of which are mandatory if you're in band except for the jazz band. I prefer jazz music to most genre's but our marching band is doing some drum and bugle corps. music this year that is really kickin' if ya know what I mean.

Anyways, I'm just looking to improve my playing. I'm not a bad player, but I'd like to get better. Eventually, my goal is, to get to the point where someone will listen and be like, "damn, that's tight." I know there are a lot of sweet trumpet players out there already (I saw John Faddis at WIU and it was awesome.), but I really want to be able to play the difficult stuff. Even though! .. I am involved in too many things and have very little time to practice (set back? ... i think so). I guess I'll have to squeeze a little more time into the day for things like this.
