Jonathan is originally from Collegeville, Pennsylvania. He has a bachelor's degree in music education from West Chester University of Pennsylvania and now attends WCU pursuing his master's degree in trumpet performance as the instrumental music department's graduate assistant. While at West Chester Jonathan has had the privilege of studying with Matt Gallagher, Frank Kaderabek, John Swana and George Rabbai, while performing with the historic Criterions Jazz ensemble under the direction of Matt Niess. Jonathan can be heard playing lead on the Criterions 2006 CD, "Writer's Cramp," recorded at Bias studios in Washington, DC. During the summer of 2007 Jonathan was a member of the Disneyland All-American College Band at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California. While on the west coast he was able to work and perform with some of today's top artists including Wayne Bergeron, Gordon Goodwin, Alex Iles, Gregg Field, Sal Lozano, Peter Erskine, Steve Houghton, Jiggs Whigham, The Airmen of Note and more. While at home Jonathan has been a part of the West Chester Jazz Orchestra. The WCJO is under the direction of Matt Niess of the U.S. Army Blues Jazz Ensemble and features jazz greats such as Dennis DiBlasio, John Swana, Greg Riley, Mike Tomaro and many more. He has been able to perform with Tony Kadleck, Mike Vax, John Fedchock, Butch Ballard, and had the distinct honor of opening twice for the late Maynard Ferguson. Jonathan currently resides in the greater Philadelphia area and performs regularly in the Tri-State scene with All About Me (allaboutmelive.com) and Chico's Vibe (chicosvibe.com).
