BRIEF BIO of Dave Wilson:
Dave Wilson was born and raised in Bronxville, NY. He has been living in the Lancaster, Pa area since 1983. He leads his own jazz group (Dave Wilson Group/Crazeology) and co-leads the Dixieland music groups The Canal Street Hot 6 and the Rampart Street Ramblers, and as well freelances with both big bands and small groups in the area. A highlight of his career has been the fall 2002 release of the first CD under his own name, titled “Through The Time”. It was picked up by Dreamscape Records (, and received significant airplay on WRTI-FM in Philadelphia, as well as over 25 jazz stations nationwide! A second CD by the Dave Wilson Quartet titled “My Time” was released in 2006 on Dreambox Media out of Philadelphia. This album also received significant airplay on WRTI-FM in Philadelphia as well as radio stations nationwide, reaching a chartbound high of #55 in national airplay ranking! Look for a new recording, featuring internationally known personnel, Phil Markowitz on Piano, Tony Marino on Bass, and Adam Nussbaum on Drums, due out in the spring of 2010 on nationally known Summit Records. The Canal Street Hot 6 also released a CD, in 2004, entitled “Back In The Day”, which was well received and has helped the group achieve numerous concert and festival work (including an appearance for the Suncoast Jazz Society in Clearwater, Florida). Dave is currently working on a new CD slated for release some time in 2009, as well as a new Trad Jazz/”swing” project in the planning stages. Dave was also a long standing member of both the Dave Stahl Sacred Orchestra and Dave Stahl Big Band, (Dave Stahl is one of the leading Jazz trumpet artists in the nation. The DSSO released 2 CD’s out on their own, both of which he performed on. With the Dave Stahl Big Band, he played alongside such Jazz luminaries as Wynton Marsalis, Tom Harrell, Lou Soloff, Steve Marcus, John Fedchock, Conrad Herwig, Steve Smith, among others. Dave has a BS in Music Education from Lebanon Valley College. He has been teaching privately on woodwinds on a full time basis since 1991, and is associated with some of the leading studios in the area. He also has a business buying and selling used musical instruments. He resides in Lancaster with his wife, Lisa, and their four cats.
