Mark Bobnick is currently the Trumpet Specialist and a trumpet teacher for Schmitt Music in Brooklyn Center, MN. He earned his B.M. in Music Education from the University of Minnesota in 2001 where he studied classical trumpet with David Baldwin for 5 years. Mark earned his M.M. in Jazz and Contemporary Media from the Eastman School of Music in 2003, where he studied jazz trumpet with Clay Jenkins. The Berklee College of Music awarded Mark a Specialist in Music Marketing Certificate in 2011.

From 2008-2011, Mark was the Jazz studies teacher and an instrumental music teacher at the St. Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists. While at SPCPA, Mark created an award winning Jazz Ensemble which took first place in its division at the 2010 & 2011 Eau Claire Jazz Festivals and won the Excellence in Jazz Education trophy both years.

After graduating from Eastman, Mark won an audition for the U.S. Army Jazz Knights at West Point and spent four and a half years with the group as lead trumpet and section leader. Two highlights of his time in the Army are performing in Washington, D.C. at the Kennedy Center for the Arts which was broadcast worldwide on Voice of America's "Willis Conover Memorial Concert" and performing the National Anthem at the 2003 World Series at Yankee Stadium.

Since returning to the Twin Cities in 2007, Mark has toured with Doc Severinsen on the 2012 "Once More With Feeling Tour" and again in 2013, played lead trumpet for Wayne Newton, and the Artie Shaw and Gene Krupa Big Bands. He has also played locally with the Chanhassen Dinner Theater Orchestra, JazzMN Big Band, Cedar Avenue Big Band, Wolverines Big Band, The Steve Wright Big Band, Skyway Jazz Orchestra, Belladiva, RFactor, The Good The Bad and The Funky, and Power of 10. Mark has also performed in various situations with jazz greats Randy Brecker, John Faddis, Tim Hagans, Roy Hargrove, Dave Leibman, Chris Vadala, Dave Grusin, Peter Erskine, Christian McBride, Jack Sheldon and Kevin Mahogany.
