About The Mike Price Jazz Quintet
This group is an contemporary extension of the quintet which was formed in Tokyo in 1993! That group's byline was, and still is,
"WE PLAY THE MUSIC THAT MADE JAZZ FAMOUS!" This worked very well in Japan because jazz fans there always like to be reminded and presented a program rich in the history of this music. That being said, I have always included original music composed by myself or members of the quintet. It has been my intention to do my best to present this original music from our own time which can be as inspirational, as exciting, as beautiful as the jazz music which preceded it!
