| I have been a professional trumpet player for almost 40 years. I am a graduate of the University of North Texas back in 1985 where I studied for over 8 years with Don "Jake" Jacoby. After leaving Denton for what was suppose to be 6 weeks I ended up working as the musical director for both Royal Caribbean and Princess Cruise lines up until 20010 (Over 25 years). During that time I moved to Toronto and performed and recorded with the "Niagara Brass" (a professional brass quintet) in Canada for over 5 years. After retiring from the cruise ships in 2010 I moved to South Carolina where I was offered a scholarship at the University of South Carolina to obtain my teaching credentials for public school teaching. During that time I was fortunate to study with Jamas Ackley and also for two years with Allen Vizutti while he was artist in residence there. After graduating Cum Laude I took a position teaching band and music in a small rural school where I can enjoy the peace and quiet of country living with my wife and SLOW country life with NO traffic. Life is and has been good to me! |
