I heard somewhere that when Olds made the horn for Mendez that one of the things he had them do to the horn was to lap the valves in until they leaked the way they did on his old Besson.
Anybody else heard this ?

The version I heard was that he didn't like Schilkes because the valves were too air tight _________________ Schilke B4L

The version I heard was not that he asked them to lap his valves, but that Olds made a copy of his old Besson but he didn't like it. So they re-examined his horn again and found the valves were quite worn, so they relapped the valves to match the Besson and he liked it.
Pretty much the same story I s'pose... _________________ -Tom Hall-
