Join us as active duty military, veterans, and civilians all celebrate America through patriotic music at a free concert! Chennault Museum and ULM proudly present the U.S. Air Force Band of the West’s Gateway Brass Ensemble on Tues, January 29. The concert, ‘America the Beautiful’, will be at 7:00 p.m. at ULM's Brown Auditorium. The band will also perform at 10:00 a.m. on Wed., January 31 at the NELA War Veterans Home.
Gateway Brass is a brass quintet with percussion which proudly showcases military professionalism at Department of Defense ceremonies and entertains at concerts throughout the Gulf Coast. The virtuoso group of Airman musicians perform an exciting range of musical styles spanning five centuries.
The ensemble is part of USAF Band of the West located in San Antonio-Lackland, Texas where Air Education & Training Command conducts Basic Military Training for over 30,000 young men and women annually. Because all enlisted Airmen must first pass through JBSA-Lackland, it is known as "The Gateway to the Air Force" which became the inspiration for the group's name.
