Nothing profound, but something I found amusing.
My wife and I went to hear the Dayton Philharmonic last weekend. As the orchestra was playing before the concertmaster, you could hear Charlie Pagnard playing a little Stamp #3. My wife turned to me and said, "That's what you play all the time, isn't it?"
I guess it's firmly enough integrated into my daily routine! _________________ Steve Thiel |

More to the point Steve, it's firmly integrated into your wife's daily routine.

The opposite also holds true. I was doing a two band gig, and heard the trumpet player from the other band warming up on Stamp. But he treated it like a syncopation exercise, and made an obvious accent on the d, a, etc. Sure enough, when he played, he did not sound like a guy who knew the Stamp routine correctly. |
