I saw these in a magazine. Anyone know what they're supposed to do and how?
Pure curiousity here (read: I'm not looking for a gadget to cure all ills).

I looked at the ad and professional symphony players are using them, saying they increase tone and range |

It's an birth control device for your trumpet. If you have two trumpets in a triple case, and wake up one morning with a new picc in there with them, you know you should have used one.
Otherwise, continue to use your diaphram.

Dave,
My guess is that we have had several childless visiters to the TH during the past couple months.
For me, it will be memories of raising teenagers!

I think there's more to our collective cultural heritage than that, Dave.
It's been 10 years since they first shot a hot dog 60+ rows up into the UNL stadium with a compressed air cannon, and some of those ol' farts still get tickled at how far technology's come. Delbert thinks that someday they may even put a man on the moon!
And don't forget that all of Lincoln's streets are torn up all spring and summer long (presumably as part of a cultural festival), but are miraculously restored to pristine condition by dedicated public servants in time for the first home game. Now they've got about 80 artist-sculptured bicycle things displayed all over town. Dang, them thangs are purty...
Thirdly, there's a monumental arch spanning I-80 out by Kearney that.... er.... speaks for itself. Yeah, that's it! It speaks for itself. I have never visited this attraction, but found out all I needed to know while watching "About Schmidt" on a transatlantic flight this summer. I just about went incontinent, I was laughing so hard.
So the Runza, world-class miniature golf, the Vise-Grip pliers factory tour, and the 6 ft gold statue of Jerry Tagge at Misty's Steakhouse aren't all Nebraska has to offer!
My old girlfriend/cousin, Lorna Sue (she majored in animal husbandry down at the U until they caught her at it one day..... always did have trouble keeping her calves goin' in the same direction....) tells me in her latest letter that the big talk down at the DQ is about how there's gonna be homemade pork-flavoured ice cream at the church social this year, and ol' Melvin's gonna be callin' the square dance again. Eunice is still nursing her gallbladder but still gets around remarkably well, especially considering all she's been through with that grain auger accident! The Gustafson place just south of the windbreak road is still a mess after the June twister, but they finally got the cow out of the tree before it stunk too bad.
Love to All....
Dave
