Just got a Najoom Leapipe for my picc. Sounds great. Nice focus and center. Wondering if anyone has put one on their Bb or C. Does it do justice to those instruments as well? |

Yes, Dennis' leadpipes for Bb, C, and all trumpets are wonderful!! Besides a couple of C trumpets, a while back I had Dennis make a leadpipe for an old Bach 239 D trumpet I have. It played well before, but now it has a faster response and better intonation. That's one of my favorite horns!!

I believe my French Besson Classic has a Najoom leadpipe - it has the name "Najoom" stamped on the side of the mouthpiece receiver...it is the instrument that supposedly Dennis Najoom had a hand in designing... |

I've played a French Besson with a Najoom leadpipe and it played very well! He makes great lead pipes! _________________ J. Fowler

Fantastic Leadpipes!
Met Dennis at the ITG Conference, in Texas. He allowed me to try one of his leadpipes by strapping it on to my Yamaha B flat. The difference was immediate. Purchased it, came back to the UK, had it fitted and haven't stopped smiling since!!
My trumpet-playing colleagues and my pupils have all noticed the difference; all saying it is an improvement.
More power, fuller sound, better intonation, basically - a huge improvement.
Since then I have purchased a Najoom leadpipe for my C and am delighted with that as well.
Both of these instruments are used every day and Dennis has produced leadpipes that have made the playing even more pleasurable. _________________ If we are not making music, what is the point?

Thanks for all the feedback. I'm gonna take the plunge again and spring for a Bb leadpipe.
Quick story: Hadn't played the picc leadpipe for my colleagues, and tried it out on the tuba player. After I played a couple things on my stock Schilke stuff I put in the Najoom. Within one scale in my warmup he replied, "that's it!". Always nice to get such a positive response from non trumpet players.
Cheers,
Will |
