I have an instructor, but I'd like to do some reading and studying of other methods that are tried-and-true.

If someone could provide web links for literature, and feedback explaining how these methods have beneficial to them, I’d really appreciate it.

Are you talking about things like Pedagogy or essays on specific trumpet related things? If you have a few hours to kill then I would recommend that you check out Eddie Lewis's website. http://www.eddielewis.com He has written tons of essays on trumpet and they are very entertaining to read. He writes on just about everything under the sun.

I dug out the Vizzuti series recently, and it is a nice change of pace. Very much like Clarke. Excellent for various routine work. Flexibility, tongueing, tech.

Also take a look at http://www.ultratrumpet.com Bill Knevitt has some great material too.

I have a website with some articles on the approach to playing and teaching that Claude Gordon used with his students. It shows how to use many of the well known method books in a structured approach. There is also a collection of sound files that might be of interest. I will be adding another one soon that has better sound quality. If you need further clarification feel free to email me.

The following links will take you to some helpful things:
