Gorgeous looking horn! Unfortunately, the BiN price *WAS* $175 before someone started the bidding... so sad. It'll probably go for about $600+ now. Not that I'd have bought it, but I would have liked to see some lucky person "steal" it for $175. Right now I'm thinking a 22B New York Symphony Special (which are pretty rare) but the thumb saddle is throwing me as I've never seen an older Conn with a thumb saddle at all. Help me out here...

If i am not mistaken it a CONN 2B Symphony. Probably early to mid 1930's.
Great symphonic horn. lighter weight horn, great projection.
I have one from 1948 and it is a great playing horn. Conn made two models of the horn
one, the early model had a saddle first slide the second run of the horn had a trigger first slide.
At $175.00 ITS A STEAL. Harry Glantz played both models before he went to Bach.

Yup, it's a 2B and it's gold plated so my guess is that it could go for around $500-$600. The 2B was one of Conn's best trumpets an many of the great players used them in the 30's.
