Maybe Alex would buy it back and sell it as used. Just an idea. I am sure he could not give you what you payed but it might be worth a shot.

| Certainly, this is not unfounded optimism. If you check the Zachary Music website, you'll find that Alex does in fact buy and sell used instruments. I think the economics of the situation dictate that if the ZeuS is to be sold, FSBO is the better route ... if someone else sells the horn for chetbfan, that "someone else" will want some compensation for their efforts. Certainly a year-old ZeuS, even in mint condition, won't be worth as much in the market as a new one.
And, it's worth it for all of us to remember that chetbfan has already put the horn on the market, so a lot of this discussion is moot.

Geo,
You bought a Zeus? How embarassing! Should have gone with the B&S Challenger I, or the Yamaha intermediate.
Good luck,

The BS and Yammie are not nearly the quality lamp post. Zig knows how to make em' right.

I'm sorry that I even posted letting people now the horn was for sale. I should have known that the same old jerks would turn this to crap. Grow up once and for all. |

Chetbfan,
I agree with Geo, you have nothing to apologize for. I hope you find a buyer and that you're happy with your new baby!
All the best,

O no! Wait!
The evil empire that Alex has established and longs to force on all misguided brassmasters can only be permanently stopped by immediately taking all those demon possessed Guarneriuses to an ordained minister of the Gospel.
Once all the evil horns are administered a thorough exorcism and the horn anointed with Al Cass Fast Valve Oil, the world, and more importantly, the music world, will be saved, at least until the Antique Silver Finish debuts.
Thank you very much!

Chetbfan,
Assuming you can afford to, you might want to wait a while to sell the Zeus.
First, let the excitement of the new horn wear off and play it on
a few gigs, then pick the Zeus back up in a few months and see if you still
want to sell it.
Also, never apologize for the brand of horn you play, there's no need to.
Note - Satchmo, Doc, MF aren't famous because they played a XXXX brand trumpet.
Let the juvenile pukes snicker if it makes them feel like men, but play the horn
that feels right for you.
Greg
PS - If my daughter (3rd year on Bb) were a few years older I'd be buying that Zeus from you. |

>>Read and learn my friend, read and learn
ActuallyRomey, I have. I read and learned so much that I bought a ZeuS C. I'm entirely happy w/ it and Alex was great to deal with. It's replaced my "superhorn" C! Try it, you might like it! |

Man... everytime a thread on Zeus trumpets starts up.. no matter how innocent... it always turns into a pee pee match! chetbfan just wanted to let everyone know that he listed the horn in the marketplace..... the only thing we should be possibly discussing here is the price he wants, why he is selling it, if it comes with a case, etc... etc.... Let's give Peace a chance. I hate that McDonald's picture as much as anyone... but it's there anyways.... _________________ J. Fowler

The last time I checked, the Marketplace is where you sell horns - NOT the forums.

Romey, I love it when you put someone in their place:

Yeah! You got to suffer if you wanna sing the blues.
Clearly, you have been around the block. Are you allowed to cross the street? |

Geo what was it like having to explain to your son that you support the zEus operation? The company that displays women as sex objects in advertisments. Are you still proud of your purchase?
Chet drop that zEuS like a bad habit. You can do alot better all the way around and you will feel better about youself knowing that you aren't supporting such a despicable operation.
In Peace,
TM

Romey,
I purchased a Zues G for my son long before anything objectionable was posted. In fact, the first I learned of the "guitar" site pics were intiated from people on this site.
Thanks to your persistent links, my teenage son found the the McDonalds site. Innocence is a wonderful thing, he thought the lady was throwing up. His opinion of the link? He thought that was "stupid" too. He couldn't see the purpose in it, it "wasn't that funny".
Youth has a way of missing the vulgar, yet not missing the obvious, give it up.
I'm damn proud to have purchased one of the best lamp post in the business.

Notice how most of the people bashing the zeus and it's maker are the same people who are constantly trying to start problems in a lot of other discussions and topics. Something to think about. |
