Welcome to the James Stamp forum.
There are a few of us on the board who have a good background in the Stamp materials. Perhaps all can chip in here and there.
Or, if someone would like to be an official moderator for this forum, please let me know. |

Yeah! I was hoping a Stamp forum would show up at some point. I was lucky enough to have a couple of lessons with Mr. Stamp and I still use his warm-up daily. I am always searching for more insight to his methods. I highly recommend the Roy Poper book "Guide to the Brasswind Methods of James Stamp" It is published by Balquhidder Music and available through Carl Fischer. I'm looking forward to learning and sharing more about this master teacher. |

How timely! Week before last my wife and I made a trek up North to a music store. I found the Stamp and Poper books, and couldn't resist picking them up (the store didn't have the music I was looking for, so I figured I oughta' get something for the trek! ) I haven't really looked at them yet, but it'll be interesting to see how this forum develops.
For starters, could you (best on another thread, I'm thinking) provide a quick overview of the salient points of the method for newbies like me? And, any other books than the three mentioned already to consider?
Welcome, and thanks for joining the Moderator ranks!

I am very excited to learn about the Stamp method. I purchased the Stamp book a while back and did it a bit. Now that there are instructions on here to help, I will get back into doing it. I especially like the mouthpiece buzzing. I agree with all the posts that it really frees up the sound when going back onto the horn. I'm glad the Stamp forum is up and going now!
