I'm looking at playing a church gig sometime soon...nothing too difficult, probably a couple of pieces on my new picc -- I think I've had enough time to work it up well enough over the past month.

The problem is, while the pieces I'm planning on playing are in Hickman's Piccolo Trumpet Big Book, I am lacking the accompaniment -- is there anything I can do to fix this short of searching out the individual pieces and ordering them with trumpet and piano/organ parts?

Oh...I'm thinking of playing Purcell's Trumpet Voluntary and Sonata in D and the Stanley Voluntary. Thanks for any help you guys have!

http://www.rkingmusic.com They are the one of the best, if not the best for trumpet/brass literature. If they don't have it.. you don't need it!

Hi Patrick,

Check with your organist. Since your trumpet music is in the original key, chances are good that the organist may already has a copy of the piece that heorshe can use. You can run through it to make sure things line up and perhaps not have to order the music.
Of course, its a good idea to have it available.

I bought Music Mimus One series Classic Pieces for Trumpet and Organ.

It's very enjoyable and useful because it contains transposed scores for Bb, C, and down-transposed easy version.

try musicminusone.com.

baroquetrumpeter,

Chuck Seipp has a publication titled The Wedding Book (I think, can't find mine at the moment) that has quite a few selections. It comes with organ accompaniment and is written for both Trumpet in C and Pic in A. A very handy book, and I believe your selections are included. Do a google search on his name and you'll find his site.
