|

There has been some talk about Bach going through at least two periods of time when they experienced a strike with their factory workers - presumably at the Indiana location. Can anyone tell me what years they occured. One person told me that one was roughly between 2000-2005.
Thanks,

According to the Bach Loyalist site (http://www.bachloyalist.com), the strike began around April of 2006, with the "True Bach" quality improvements initiated in 2007. I believe the strike ending in 2009.

According to the press reports I just read, labor unrest and quality problems big time, started in the mid ninties, with the actual strike lasting a five year period ending in 2010 for all practical purposes.

Certainly not disagreeing with your general premise, Tom, nor agreeing either. I think you may know more about the situation than me. I will observe that my 2000 Strad is a fine instrument that leaves nothing to be desired by me (well, there is just a little silver plate missing from the third valve case top cap threads, which cannot be seen when the cap is in place).

I am a big Bach trumpet fan. I hear the reports of poor quality before during and after the strike. I own trumpets from all three periods and find them to be top quality instruments. I have never seen or played a poor quality trumpet which have been referred to, here or anywhere. _________________ All Bach Strad
