Has anyone purchased a horn on EBAY from the UK seller who always wants the bidder to "PLEASE CONTACT US BEFORE BIDDING". Sometimes the auctions are deleted by EBAY, sometimes the seller has feedback....what is up? kpb |

I haven't done it with a horn, but I did with a Motorcycle. These are scam ads. They try to sell you the item outside Ebay. Plus, when you contact them they have your email address, and I believe they may be selling them. If the person has feedback, typically that account was hijacked.

See earlier thread. It's a scam, and I report this idiot to Ebay several times a week (just got done filiing a rather scathing report since Ebay is apparently clueless). When you contact this seller (and yes, it's the same seller each and every time - when Ebay shuts down the auction he simply creates a new UserID), he offers to sell you a Zeus outside of Ebay, so he doesn't have to pay Ebay fees. Not only that, but since it's outside of Ebay you have no recourse or protection; it wouldn't surprise me if he's just waiting to rip off unsuspecting buyers.
What I've suggested to Ebay 3 [CENSORED] times now, is that since the twit uses the same contact email address, can't they block that email address (or better yet, that domain, since it's not a major one) from registering new IDs. Apparently they can't or won't.

I have been reporting them as well. This person must have listed the same 130 or so ads on like 30 different accounts now from new usernames to existing ones that he/she "hijacked".
Ebay can only try their best to keep up with them and shut them down. I bid on the Zeus way back in the day when they first started their garbage and they offered it to me outside of Ebay for $650. I told them to send me a pic of the horn and they sent me one from another auction that was currently going on ... gotta love that.
Well I replied to the guy and said I would give gim $750 if he rushed shipping and told him to just wait for the check just to see what he would say. Of course he said that was fine.
I then e-mailed him a couple days later and said I would just wait and win one on one of his other 5 ID's he had at the time.
Stay away from these losers. I can't see how they do it. I mean ... it does cost a little money to place all these auctions!!! _________________ Bb - Yamaha Xeno 8335RGS

I keep reporting them too. I wish ebay could do some automatic search on zeus trumpet and keep kicking this seller off themselves. I know they stole several ids. When you see a whole list of expensive items starting at 1.00 with no reserve and then asking to be contacted before bidding, you know something is not right.
You would think that ebay could contact someone in the U.K. and get this seller shut down by the law enforcement there.
I try to stay away from anything that costs very much on ebay just because of things like this.
I just went to ebay and searched on "zeus trumpet" and this moron is back with 10 new names. I reported this to ebay and they will be kicked off sometime tomorrow.
Evidently Ebay doesn't feel the need to do anything about this on a permanent basis.
It shouldn't be that hard to track this guy down. I would think that the U.K. law enforcment would love to have a crack at him.

I'm a little nervous. All the people bidding on my horn have negatives saying they never sent in the money. |

Hi Vince,
You can cancel bids from people you think are untrustworthy if you wish.

This is NOT Zachery.
This is somebody from england trying to get people to send in money outside of ebay to buy several expensive items including a zeus trumpet. They keep listing under several names at once and keep getting kicked off ebay after they are reported for selling outside of ebay.
I would bet they don't even actually have a zeus trumpet.
The person with the bids from people with negative feedback should just reject those bids. You don't have to sell to someone if you have a good reason not too.
What does this have to do with the guy from england selling outside of ebay? |

FYI...when these adds first appeared, I emailed Zachary and asked if he was aware of this seller and if there was an affiliation. He was not aware and later emailed me that he was watching the whole deal and he confirmed that he had no dealer in the UK and had not to his knowledge sold any horns to a UK operation. I believe him and feel there is nothing going on involving Zachary. I just think this seller was able to cut and paste Zeus info into his Ebay ads. kpb |

A few days ago I finally emailed the person on ebay. Here is what I wrote:
Hi,
This is Alex at Zachary Music and ZeuS Wind Instruments.
I am puzzled about what you are doing and who you are.
Can you please let me know what's going on with all your ZueS auctions? Do you really have a trumpet to sell?
I would apprecieat any information.
Alex
Here is the response I received:
Hello info,
Are you interested in just bidding for this ? I am asking because I
would like to negotiate a buy-it-now price with you. Please let me
know if you are interested as soon as you read this. We offer free
shipping and other attractive discounts for outright purchases.
Thanks for looking at my auctions !

I also made the mistake of emailing them and got back the same automated response you did.
I had to block their address from my email because they kept sending me emails trying to get me buy things.
I am sure that they don't even have anything for sale, they just want to find someone dumb enough to send them some money.
I quit reporting them to ebay because I just got tired of it.
I am about tired of ebay altogether anyway.
I have no idea how this seller can keep registering with so many id's at the same time.
They must have an unlimited supply of email addresses.
It must be a total scam. |
