Well, I'm no expert by any stretch of the imagination, but my primary horn is a 90B. I love my tone on it. I recently had a Kanstul Mariachi on a trial for several weeks, and I prefer the Benge; I was never able to get the same "fullness" of tone on the Kanstul. I was horn shopping (see some of my earlier threads), convinced that I needed a better horn than the 90B, but after more practicing, and speaking with several people in person and online, I believe I'm better served by finding the right mouthpiece marriage (and lots of practice) rather than replacing the horn.

I tried a Conn V1 and Martin Committee last weekend, and maybe its my familiarity with the 90B, but I kept coming back to the Benge. Rather than buy a new horn, I may simply invest in a good clean and PVA on this horn.

Given the price you can get these for (mine is 4 years old, and I picked it up for $499), they seem to be a relative bargain.

I believe they are yet another Strad copy.

I heard that the person who deisigned the horn has quite a reputation? I just don't recall. Anybody?? BTW I also got a 90B,,in my opinion its a perfect lead horn!! It has this powerfull sound..Maybe too bright for my job in a Jazz quintet in which I play a Committee.. I use primarily for big band and commercial.
