Hey guys, I've been playing trumpet for 29 years, but this is my first ITG conference. Any advice you could give for a first timer? _________________ The name I go by in the real world is Joe Lewis |

Enjoy! Soak up the great clinics, workshops, if you can wake up the morning warm up sessions, the late night jams (I'm hosting Saturday so you better come and play!), incredible concerts, etc.
Every major manufacturer will have goodies in the exhibits as well.
See you there dude!

Have a great time. My advice is don't stay in the exhibit area too long. Trust me when I say, that it can prove to be caustic and rough on the inner Gabriel. The early morning warm up sessions are a lot of fun and the evening concerts are always killer!!! I think you are going to have a great time!!! Lot's of neat things and horns to try in the exhibit area...just remember what I said _________________ Freelance Performer/Teacher WV, PA, MD, and OH http://www.neil-king.com

Joe, you're in for a great time! There is so much packed into a few days. Be sure to take in the Festival of Trumpets. The late night jams are a lot of fun but make it hard to go to the early morning warm-up sessions. Trent, I'll be sure to attend the Sat. late night jam. Roger |

You will have such a blast at ITG 2013. Stop by our Hickeys Music Center booth when you get a chance. We will have a huge selection of trumpet studies, orchestra parts, solos, many new trumpet ensembles, trumpet textbooks, brass quintets, accessories and much more. Chris and Dave Z will be there so stop and say hi. Have fun! Pete Comerford, www.hickeys.com _________________ Peter Comerford

I can hardly wait! First time for me, too. I have a question...I registered quite a while ago and was wondering if they send tickets or anything by mail?
I haven't received anything yet. |

I would love to go and check out the exhibits, and meet Trent (among others). But $125/day or $410/week for a non-member? They should offer exhibits-only passes, and/or separate tickets for certain performances (Sandoval, e.g.). _________________ Greg

Greg, check out the ITG Conference website. There are concerts every day that are open to the general public, including the Sandoval concert on Sat. The daily late night jam sessions at 11 pm at Louis Benton's & LB Lounge are also open to the public. Trent is hosting this on Sat.

No tickets were mailed other than the acknowledgement of your conference registration via email. Please pick up your lanyard at the ITG Registration Desk located in the Center Concourse of the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel. We will be open from 8 a.m. - 9 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and on Saturday from 9 - 11 a.m.
We are offering many concerts to the general public. These are listed on the website at www.gvsu.edu/itg2013 under Public Concerts.
Special thanks to all of our artists, presenters, and exhibitors, and a big shout out to those hosting the Late Night Jam Sessions at Louis Benton & LB's Lounge.
See you next week! Safe travels! |
