Hello Guys
I thought I would share this with you.
If you look on the list of "M" series mouthpieces thet Kanstul are doing they do an M4FL but thisis a flugel or trumpet mouthpiece.
I use the Monette B4FL cornet mouthpiece and having let my son try it out it seemed to be the best of the cornet mouthpiece for him too.
So I phoned Kanstul and they immediately offered to make me a cornet one.
It hasn't arrived yet but it shows that its always worth asking.
Will be interesting to see how it performs compared to the real thing but I was not spending $220 on a Monette for a kid.
Its the cup shape that makes it a good mouthpiece anyway so as long as thats correct it should be OK

Well
It arrived today.
Unfortunately I have aheavy cold so doing a comparison is a bit difficult.
I have had a brief blow on it.
Here are my immediate reactions:
1. It has similar characteristics to the Monette original in its response.
2. The inside of the mouthpice si much smoother than the Monette.
3. It feels more open.
4. The sound feels slightly colder than the Monette.
Some of this may be due to the silver plating rather than gold plating.
Having said that, it retains the main advantages of the Monette one (good slotting, not sounding fluffy like so many funnel shaped mouthpieces).
Its definitely good enough for my son to be playing on without me worrying too much about him dropping it outside and damaging it.
