I must be tired. I listen to that in the OP and I couldn't care less what horn he's playing. I don't care if he's moving a lot of air, or if he's efficient. I'm not concerned with the core of his sound, or the periphery. The things trumpet players tend to obsess over just melt away and all I hear is music, transcending the limits of the tools being used.
And I hear the music itself being taken to the limits of what it can convey ...
what a level of artistry!
As much as I love Arturo's powerful playing across all ranges, this video blows away almost anything I've seen or heard him do; it's just one of the classiest performances around by any trumpet player. I keep coming back to this this in a similar way to how I used to listen to his "A Mis Abuelos" scream fest (which is still amazing too):
