The best prices I have seen for new harmon-style mutes were at Dillon Music. http://www.dillonmusic.com
They sell the H&B Wee-Zee for just under $20, and the Harmon brand aluminum Wow-Wow for just over $20. |

I have the Harmon alluminium and I am quite pleased with it. It sounds good and is easy to get zinging. It is also light which I like as some of the others are very heavy once on your horn. |

Not sure what the prices are like elsewhere, but the Denis Wick mutes are quite cheap in the UK.
This was my first harmon style mute and served me well for the majority of my life.
I now have three (Wick, H&B and JoRal Copper) and use the one which works best for the situation. If I'm playing with Surrey Brass, it's the JoRal - the entire section (all 6 of us) have them and the mass sound of these mutes is stunning. |
