I'm in the market for a new case that'll hold all 3 of my horns; Bb, C, and picc. I went ahead and ordered a Wolkpak 2.5 from WWBW, but they're backordered for a couple of weeks.

Before they ship it, I was curious as to which size picc the case is designed to hold. I use a Yamaha 6810, the short model. Will this fit in fine, or is the picc slot designed for a long model like the Schilke? From the picture I've seen it looks like it'll fit, but the picture may be a little misleading. Anybody else use this case and know for sure that a short picc will fit?

Thanks!
-Pat

A few buddies of mine have short model pics, like the Benge and Getzen, which have similar designs to yours, and I have a Kanstul long bell, like the Schilke. We all have the Wolfpak 2.5 and none of us have any problems. It is a great case. Awesome protection, and convieniently light.

I used this same case for a while, it held my horns just fine. I had a Yamaha 6810S and it fit really well, and then I switched to a Blackburn A/G (quite a bit bigger bell) and it also fit just fine!! The only reason I switched was because I bought a Chicago Monette C trumpet, and it was too long for the case. I really liked it, and wish the Monette would have fit, but it was just a bit too snug for my liking. Right now I'm using a Monette double case, but miss having all three horns on me.

For some reason I'm under the impression that Kevin Woelfel (sp?) of Rocky Mountain Caseworks is a Monette player (I could be wrong). Does anybody know if my Monette would fit in his cases? I would love to go back to a 2.5 if I could!

I would really like to get a Rocky Mountain 2.5 as well. I borrowed a friend's WP 2.5 to fly with over Thanksgiving and it worked great, but the RM cases are made better. I hope that RM gets up and running again.

Louie,
Yes, Monette horns fit very nicely in the Rocky Mountain cases.

I just want to be sure before I try to shell out the bucks, but are you sure that they fit the Chicago horns? They are a little bit longer than the current trumpets...

Yeah, I would like a Rocky Mountain case too...I've seen a couple of them and they looked really great. Then again, they cost more too...Then again, they are designed by the same person, so I guess Wolkpak is the more "budget" style case. I hope it comes in soon, I'm tired of carrying a double case, a bag for mutes/music, and the picc case...

Wolfpack BUDGET style? There 2 or 3 times as expensive as protec! You mean cases get MORE expensive than that? ::faints::
