This might be a strange question: I seem to have developed somewhat of a discomfort in my upper bronchial area (fully exhaled), almost a feeling of tightness and wanting to cough. it seems like it could be an allergy. it is not very pronounced and i have absolutely no shortness of breath or anything to that effect but i was wondering if anyone had ever heard of anybody becoming allergic to valve oil or slide grease which, i assume is inhaled somewhat in vapor-like form if you play a lot. I use al cass valve oil and schilke slide grease. While i am obvioulsly not looking for medical advice, it'd be nice to know if any of you guys out there have ever encountered this problem....thanks!

I have a hard time dealing with the smell of some valve oils which is why I use Hetman oils which has almost no smell.

If I ever breathed from the corner of my mouth some of the oil fumes would get into my lungs and seriously mess with me. I breathe by removing my entire face from the horn and that solved it for the most part. Back in those days I was using Al Cass oil, but I switched to Pro Oil Hybrid which doesn't seem irritate my senses as much.

Regards.
