Do Stomvi or Yamaha Xeno make gold plated C trumpets; or others for that matter.
I have not checked out Yamaha but I did look over the line of Stomvi horns and do not seem to see that as a standard option.

Just curious, and a bit lazy.

Yamahas do make gold plated instruments - check out Canadian Brass - all Yamaha gold!
Whether these are easily available to us mere mortals is another matter.

Considering the other finishes that Yamaha offer I can't see them refusing this one.

Stomvi does indeed make gold plated C horns as well as all the others. I have three of them. Check out their web site at

Check out the "Master" line. Magnificent horns !

I knew I could count on Mr. Stomvi.
How about the Elite line? I am actually interested in the Medium Large bore Elite C. Do you know if they can be ordered with Gold... or even Gold Lacquer. I am kind of tired of silver. However, I would not trade my Elite Picc for anything right now.

Don't know if you can custom order an Elite model in gold but you might give Jose Mecking (sales manager) out at Cambrass a call.

Ya, I would guess that they're easily available in gold plate or laquer through a place like Dillon's or Rayburn. I went to Dillons and tried out a Yamaha Xeno Bb in satin finish. I didn't even know that Yamaha made horns in satin finish! I wasn't really too impressed with the Xenos they had there...there was one that my teacher had that I played that was a real winner but maybe it was a lucky grab. It had a great sound to it, but every other Yammie I've played lately doesn't really have a sound that "grabs" me.

Well, as for the Yamahas - as stated earlier, we all know that Yamaha will produce gold plated instruments - Canadian Brass play them. In fact, I played one at ITG this year, I know they make gold plated ones.

I have just been searching through the Yamaha websites (too many of them - why can't they make life simple and just have one??) and I have yet to find any finish except lacquer or silver. Do a search here on TH and you will find the matte finish, brushed gold and gold plate all referred to. From what I have gathered they are available to special order, contact your local retailer and see what they can do.

Another alternative is to get the trumpet you really like playing (which would include your Stomvi Elite) and get it gold plated.

I think that if you want a factory GP Yamaha trumpet, you have to order it through the pro shop. I have no clue how to do this at all, but that's my understanding.
