I have a Stomvi Master Piccolo and it came with an extra slide for the fourth valve, I think it lows the pitch one whole step for more easily-excecuted trills. Is this right? How does it work? When should we use it? |

I was told that by switching the regular fourth slide to the smaller fourth slide, it switched the pic from the key of A to the key of G. You would just play with the fourth valve down all the time. You would basically have a three valve G pic.
Hope this helps,

And it works!
I just traded my Schilke P5-4 for a Stomvi Master (plus cash). It comes with the extra 4th valve slide, and two detachable bels; one yellow brass, one sterling silver. I also bought the wooden bell. This is by far the best piccolo I have played. Thanks to Maurice Andre for helping with the R&D.
