Hi! For those who are knowledgeable on this subject, what can you tell me about the cup shape of the Bach Mt Vernon 1 1/4C - particularly how it differs from the Mt Vernon 1C and the modern 1 1/4C |

The ones I've had from Mt. Vernon and late 60's-70's were virtually identical in both terms of appearance and playing characteristics. They've never been made in great numbers so they were not subject to the same amount of tooling wear and changes of the other models. _________________ Bill Siegfried

Bach 1.25 C (red) vs Bach Mount Vernon 1.25C (green)
They're very similar but not completely identical (click on the image to open it up full-size in a separate window).
And here's a modern Bach 1C compared to the Mount Vernon 1-1/4C:
Bach 1C (red) vs Bach Mount Vernon 1.25C (green)
Though the cup diameters at the inner rim edges are pretty similar, the high point of the rim on the 1C is a little closer to the inner part of the rim than that of the MV 1-1/4C. Also, while the cup of the 1C is a little deeper and has more volume, the area below the cup (the throat) leading toward the drill area is more expansive on the 1-1/4C. Basically, the MV 1-1/4C is a bit more V-shaped overall than the 1C (but not deeper in terms of cup depth). |

Thanks for the insight!! Which program gave you these pictures? I've fiddled a little with the Kanstul online comparator and my problem is I couldn't superimpose the images on top of each other? |

The Kanstul Comparorator doesn't work well on mobile devices. Try it on a desktop if you were using a tablet or phone, and you should be able to super-impose the pictures. _________________ Isaiah 40:8
