hey guys,
I noticed from the kanstul website that the M series mouthpieces look more like the LT monette line of mpcs. The outside cup looks more "V shaped" than the STC 1 mpc which is slightly curved. I was under the impression that the M series was supposed to be a digitalized copy of monettes. Can anyone comment of that?
Also, can anyone tell me the throat size of a M-B6?
Thanks!

I too am wondering about the M series...do you guys like them alot? some ppl say they are great...some ppl say there a cheap ripoff and doesnt play neary as good as true monettes do....Would they blend good with other people in my section? or are they just for solo work?
Ive only used Bach mouthpieces so how would I know what size to buy? Would Dillons carry them? even if they did its a pretty lengthy drive for me for just a mouthpiece

I have a Monette B6 and a B4LD. I also have a Kanstul M-B4S 7 M-B4L. The shapes of the Monette versus the Kanstuls are identical. The craftsmanship and quality of the Kanstuls are excellent. I have played both types for many hours and I feel that the Monettes are as good as the Kanstuls. |

You can't order directly from the Kanstul website. You have to order from one of his dealers, listed under the dealer page. I have dealt with Jack Kanstul when I bought my M-B2 and M-C2, and was very satisfied with the service. His website is http://www.kanstulmusic.com/
You have to call to order the M series, it is not listed on his page. Hope this helps! _________________ Brian Montgomery

The Bach 3C and the M-B4S are very close. The Kanstul is more comfortable for me. The high point of the rim is a little further out, making the rim flatter.
See the Kanstul MP comparitor at:

I have 2 Monettes and the Kanstul replicas in the same size. I find the Kanstuls work better for me. I would have to agree that the Monettes are almost as good as the Kanstuls. The Monettes don't fit well into some of my older Olds trumpets. I don't have that problem with the Kanstul replicas. Due to the price difference, I don't know why anyone would buy the Monette. |
