Do you stick a trumpet mpc in the end of it? And what's up with the lowered 3rd valve?

Next time you play American in Paris check out the percussion section.
The taxi-horn sounds are made by these things...........I think.

this thing is called a Schalmei.
This things are instruments of torture.
They were very popular in East Germany until 1989. When the Wall came down their popularity faded.
These are sounding horrible but Honecker, the "leader " of the DDR, really loved them.
I once heard them live, a kind of Big Band. You will get them as trumpet, baritone, bass, harmony ...
Have mercy ! Someone should tell the high bidder it is NOT a Committee.

It looks like a hood ornament, or something you would see on the roof of a Mack Truck. Having said that, I still LIKE it but am not bidding.

In my oppinion this is inspired of Pipes from scotland. One main pipe ( the main bell in that case) plus 3 chords pipes ( 3 more bell...sometimes, you an have 4 chaord pipes too). At really mathers how does that sound.. must be pretty kool to play amazing grace on a thing like that... at least, if that really works like Pipes...

Well... a thing to had... really costy to mute!

I second that this siren is a schalmei. Have a street roller going over it and it will be somewhat flat in tune after.
Have fun!
